Why Pilates?
Pilates is a workout style that was developed in the early 1900's by German physical trainer, Joseph Pilates. He started developing his training regimen on fellow soldiers during WWI. His method has grown in popularity over the years and has benefited everyone from people with limited mobility to professional athletes.
Pilates addresses structural issues in the body and focuses on building a leaner, stronger body that is more flexible and well-balanced. The emphasis is on body alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance.
Pilates is a series of low impact, mind-body connected movements that are done either on a floor mat or a spring-assisted apparatus that can accommodate all fitness levels from beginner to advanced with modifications in difficulty.
Regardless of age, ability or fitness level, Pilates is beneficial for everyone!
